New Cards

I'm so very happy I have been able to get into my craft room and create. I have always been one to relax  and do my best thinking while my hands are busy. I have been using what I call the scrapping method for my cards lately and seem to enjoy the look of the 'clean-line' card. While I LOVE others coloring techniques, I feel like I'm back in school with the Art teacher telling me to "stay in the lines".  I hope you enjoy my cards today.

Happy card making to you!

Well I'll be...I'm a Guest Designer

One of my favorite bloggers, Emma, from My Creative Time has asked me to join my daughter, Veronica, of VK Design Company in being her Guest Designer for the day. After getting all nervous and wondering if I could make a card as NICE as the ones that they created, I sat down at my "messy" desk (and of course my dog was at my feet) and worked and worked 'til I came up with this card.

I used Emma's stamp set called All Star Baby. It is such a cute set! Of course I had to add the sparkling crystals in blue and pink!

Here's a close-up of my card:

Thanks for dropping by today!

Where have I been?

I can not believe I have neglected my blog. I am a searcher of other blog sites and LOVE getting new and crafty ideas from many people. I just find it VERY hard to post on mine,  and my Daughter, Veronica has done a wonderful job creating it. So here goes another try. Many things have been happening since Septemebr of 2010.Our eldest Son, Donal and his Wife, Kim are doing well with three growing boys. Their youngest is being crowned King of the Freshmen at the Homecoming game. We have another Grandson, Maxwell from our eldest Daughter, Stacey and her Husband Joe. Our youngest Son, Dan and his Wife, Christina are going to be welcoming another child in late May. Also this past June our youngest Daughter, Veronica married her HS sweetheart (and he is). My Husband and I are very blessed with  four WONDERFUL kids and their spouses.

Kim, Christina, Veronica, and Stacey.

I will be posting again with the NEW cards I have been making and I have been invited to be a guest with my Daughter, Veronica for  Emma at My Creative Time. I just hope I can create a card for her blog she will be pleased with.

Thanks for looking,

Terri

Back to basics

Just a quick note about Emma's Throwback Thursday. This week she wants to go back to when we did not use any machines (that plugged in). Well wouldn't you know just last week I told my daughter, Veronica that I had decided to go back to when I first started making cards using the basics, paper, ribbons, brads, and layering effects, and the original red Sizzix. I'm going to have to remember to take my pictures in the daytime when I get the better light. So here is my card, hope you like it.

New cards

Whew! I have finally been able to get into my 'crap'room and create. I have been talking to some ladies who have bought my cards at Scrapbook shows and Scrap-garage sales who would like to learn. So I have come up with some cards to start with.  The class will be on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 7PM. My pictues are not as clear as I'd like this time but you get the ideas. Yes, there is plenty of ribbons, shiney papers and of course got to have those puffy pop-dots to raise images. Hope you like.

Terri

Baby lets cruise, away from here...

Well it's been awhile since my last post. Just got lost in alot of things to do and take care of since getting back. I had a wonderful time with my family celebrating my Father's 80th birthday by going on the cruise. I flew to New York first with my folks to my older  sister, Syd's home a day before and got to visit with her and her husband. The next day we met up at the docks with my sister, Lesly  from Texas and her husband and their good friends. We boarded the ship around 4 PM and I was blown away at the size. My cabin had two port holes to look out of and there was water as far as I could see. Dinners were in the dining room at 6 PM every night and we could either eat on lido deck on our own or in the dining area at certain times and be waited on. The night shows were great, either comedy or vegas type shows. There were 13 decks and to be honest I probably only saw 5-7 of them. Okay,I was busy at the casino with the 'Bucking Ahoy' or 'Ahoy Buckeneers' slot machine. We had a day in St John's off the ship and was able to take a joy ride to see the lighthouse (thought it was going to be a few) which turned out to be one. Still a beautiful sight from the water. My only requirement was to make sure I received the cute towels and there was a different one every night. On the last day I asked my steward for a small one to take home ( yes, he got an extra tip). Well enjoy my pictures.

Wednesday's Throwback

Things have been very hectic for a few weeks and will continue to be for a few more. I went on a mini vacation with my Husband to Mt Pleasant and to visit my parents up in Indian River. Had such a good time visiting and of course a little gamblin at the casino. Did I win? No, but had a nice time people watching. The casino is beautiful inside and out.

I'm now getting ready to take a cruise with my parents and sisters to New Brunswick, Canada for about 4 days. This is a first for most of us and should be very exciting. I think I'm more excited seeing my sisters than the actual cruise. A little nervous about the big, big boat. I'll have a few pictures when I get back.

So on to my project. Emma's challange is for  the theme of school. Her boy's will be going back this Monday. I have created an 8 x 8 page using the cartridges, My Community, Speaking of School, Printing Press, and my new found paper from Papertrey. This is a 110lb paper and cuts like butter with my Cricut. Color coordinating EVERYTHING. Buttons, paper, ribbon, felt, etc. Check it out.

Happy Scrappin,

Terri
